Late (Tardy) Arrival and Leaving Early:

All students are expected to be in their room by the first bell. Tardy
students will be required to go to the front office and sign in. Repeated
tardiness will be recorded in the following way:

Students arriving to school after 8:00 am will be required to be signed in
by a parent or guardian in the front office. Students being picked up after
3:00 pm will be required to be signed out by a parent or guardian in the
front office.

– 5 or more tardies in one semester = Letter home
– 10 or more tardies in one semester = Phone Conference with Principal
– 15 or more tardies in one semester = Parent Meeting with Principal to
discuss future enrollment
– Continued instances of tardiness may result in un-enrollment in PHES.

Arizona State law (A.R.S. 15-803) says that it is unlawful for any child
between the ages of six and sixteen to fail to attend school during the
hour’s school is in session, unless there is a valid excuse. The child will
be considered truant when there is not a good reason for not attending
school. For this reason, each time you need to check your child out early
from school or arrive late a valid excuse is required. We encourage
parents to schedule appointments outside of the school day. Additional
documentation in regards to a valid excuse may be requested by PHES
administration.

Late Pick Up Policy:

At dismissal bell students are expected to:

– Be picked up promptly by approved family member or friend
– Immediately walk or ride bikes home
– Go to the Cubs Connection Program (fee based program – enrollment
required)
– Go to After School Detention – ASD (2:45 pm – 3:45 pm, Tuesday –
Friday)
– Go to school sponsored program (clubs, athletics, etc.)

All students, not involved in school sponsored programs, are to be off
campus no later than 3:00 pm. Students who remain on campus past 3:00 pm
are required to be signed in at the office and call home to arrange for a
ride. Students will remain in the front office until they are picked up and
must be signed out by approved family member or friend.

Repeated occurrences where a student is not picked up by 3:00 pm may result
in un-enrollment from Paradise Honors Elementary School.
